ACE Partners is supporting one of their Aviation partners with a Director of Program Management opportunity. We are looking for an experienced leader operating in the engineering sector of an organization. The Program Manager is a member of the engineering team responsible for leading project teams in the execution of multiple, varying, complex projects for the planning, development, and launch of new projects and product improvements.

This role is a full-time direct role with our end client, and will operate fully on-site at their facility in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Manages projects across functional teams for new product development and product improvement to ensure project objectives are achieved and resources are efficiently utilized.
  • Develops project scope and objectives, incorporates feedback from stakeholders, and ensures technical viability for proposed projects.
  • Creates and maintains project documentation including project plans, schedules, and status reports.
  • Leads multi-disciplinary project reviews and design reviews.
  • Leads collaboration amongst and between engineering, suppliers, marketing, and manufacturing.
  • Identifies, tracks, and facilitates resolution of issues.
  • Monitors risks, plans mitigations, and acts when risks are realized.
  • Identifies and defines requirements and allocates requirements amongst project team.
  • Coordinates project transitions including entry into production and entry into service.
  • Leads regular project meetings and provides project briefings to company leadership.
  • Creates and maintains Confluences pages to communicate project information with stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with third parties, regulators, and vendors including requests for proposals, contracts, and managing contracts.
  • Leads lessons learned meetings and ensures lessons are incorporated in procedures and processes.
  • Interacts with customers to validate product concepts, gather data, develop use cases, and resolve problems.
  • Works with the project team to ensure that regulatory requirements, safety standards, policies, and guidance for design, production, and airworthiness are satisfied.
  • Participates in design activities and makes suggestions to enhance the value of the new products.
  • Creates and reviews project documentation including Project Plans, Certification Plans, Compliance Reports, and Conformity Records
  • Develops and standardizes processes and documentation for program management and provides recommendations to improve work processes.
  • May act as an individual contributor to project work within a particular area of expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field
  • 10+ years' direct experience managing projects or programs
  • Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with strong project management, organization, and risk management skills
  • Excellent academic record
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for and involvement in aviation
  • Experience with managing large development or certification projects for 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/29 aircraft
  • Certified Project Management Professional
  • Experience as an engineer for rotorcraft
  • Pilot certificate
