Maintenance Technician

Primary Objective

This role is responsible for ensuring that all processing and facility equipment operates safely, reliably, and at peak efficiency. The Maintenance Technician supports daily production by performing mechanical, electrical, and facility-related maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities across the site.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Maintain and repair production processing equipment to support daily operations
  • Maintain and service facility systems and infrastructure
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant and processing equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical equipment issues
  • Document maintenance work completed and communicate findings with the team
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying equipment reliability issues
  • Complete assigned projects independently as required
  • Mentor and support Maintenance Mechanic I team members
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Preferred Background

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience working on high-speed processing or converting equipment
  • Strong hands-on experience across multiple skilled trades

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Journeyman-level competency across core maintenance trades
  • Proven ability to manage and execute projects independently

Required Experience

  • Mechanical repair and troubleshooting
  • Electrical troubleshooting, installation, and repair (24V-480V)
  • PLC fundamentals, servo motors/drives, AC/DC VFDs
  • Plumbing and pipefitting
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Machine tools
  • Pneumatics
  • Facilities maintenance
  • Licences or certifications in relevant trades are required

Physical & Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs. regularly and up to 50lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed
  • Use hands and arms for handling tools, equipment, and controls
  • Work safely in hot, cold, noise, and dusty manufacturing environments
  • Visual acuity including close, distance, and peripheral vision
  • Ability to hear and communicate in loud environments
  • Ability to move throughout the facility as required to perform duties
