Mechanical Systems Design Engineer

ACE Partners are working exclusively with one of our partners operating in the Aerospace sector to source a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on their new product line. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be a critical part of their production team, and will be highly involved in the design, development and integration of the mechanical systems associated with the hydraulics.

This is a full-time direct position and requires the successful engineer to work onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, and verify mechanical systems across the full product development lifecycle
  • Perform preliminary loads and stress assessments to inform robust design decisions
  • Create detailed part, assembly, and installation models using CAD, incorporating GD&T and design-for-manufacture principles
  • Oversee fabrication and development of prototype hardware
  • Develop technical requirements, specifications, and engineering processes
  • Plan and execute component, assembly, ground, and flight tests — including test planning, instrumentation, data analysis, and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define operating environments and resolve development and certification challenges
  • Ensure designs meet performance targets, customer expectations, and FAA 14 CFR Part 27 requirements
  • Interface with suppliers to define requirements, resolve design issues, and support hardware delivery
  • Communicate program status, schedules, and technical risks to engineering leadership
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering efficiency and product quality

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience designing complex mechanical systems for aerospace applications
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling and drafting with strong application of GD&T and design-for-manufacturing principles
  • Working knowledge of aircraft certification processes and regulatory requirements
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, loads, and mechanical system integration
  • Self-motivated engineer capable of operating with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aircraft design and development programs
  • Background in hydraulic system design and integration
  • Experience with engine installations in aircraft applications
  • Familiarity with vibration analysis, rotating components, or control-related mechanical systems
  • Exposure to ground and flight test activities
