Part 145 Lead Helicopter Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Lead Helicopter Mechanic to support and oversee maintenance operations within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment. This role combines hands-on rotorcraft maintenance with day-to-day leadership of mechanics and technicians to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance execution.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled A&P with helicopter experience who has progressed into a Lead, Crew Chief, or supervisory capacity and is comfortable directing work in a fast-paced hangar environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee maintenance, repair, overhaul, and inspection of helicopter airframe and powerplant systems
  • Lead daily maintenance activities, assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with FAA Part 145 regulations and approved technical data
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and systems discrepancies and provide technical guidance to the team
  • Review and verify maintenance documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Support heavy maintenance events, modifications, and scheduled inspections
  • Act as a liaison between Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Operations
  • Support FAA audits, internal inspections, and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Mentor and develop junior mechanics and technicians

Required Qualifications 

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Significant hands-on helicopter maintenance experience
  • Experience working within a Part 145 Repair Station or equivalent maintenance facility
  • Prior experience as a Lead Mechanic, Crew Chief, or Maintenance Supervisor
  • Strong working knowledge of rotorcraft systems and troubleshooting
  • Thorough understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance documentation standards
  • Ability to lead teams and maintain accountability in a hangar environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on Bell, Robinson, Airbus Helicopters, Sikorsky, or Leonardo platforms
  • Experience supporting FAA audits and regulatory inspections
  • Experience coordinating with Quality and Engineering on repair approvals and technical issues
  • Prior Lead Mechanic, Crew Chief, or Maintenance Supervisor experience
